A substantial hand-blown art glass vase from the mid-twentieth century, most likely from the celebrated glassworks of Murano, Italy, or the renowned Skrdlovice glasshouse of Bohemia, both known for their sculptural studio glass in the postwar period.
Formed entirely by hand, the vase has an organic, free-flowing shape: a generous, swelling body that rises and contracts with an almost liquid fluidity before opening into a crown of flame-like, upswept petal points. typical of studio work from this period. The colour is a clear aqua–turquoise, deepening slightly toward teal near the top and softening into a more muted, pale grey at the base, with subtle variations created during the blowing process. The surface shows slight rippling, catching the light in a soft, natural way.
It is in very good vintage condition, with no visible chips and only minor scattered staining. Set on a mantelpiece, a linen-draped console, or a sunlit windowsill, it serves as a quiet focal point, suited to both traditional and contemporary interiors. With a single stem or on its own, it simply needs light to be appreciated.
Condition and patina consistent with age.
