A substantial lantern-form chandelier in wood and wrought iron, late 20th century, finished in a pale chalk wash with a gently weathered surface. The five-sided cage is glazed on each face, open at the crown and base, and topped with a scrolled crest. Hand-forged leaves accent each angle, while a turned wooden stem centers five lights set on textured, striated iron arms with candle-form sockets. The chalk-washed surface, thoughtfully distressed, is enriched by subtle traces of natural aging, while gentle oxidation to the iron lends further character and depth.
Hung in a generous entry or stair hall, its sculptural profile complements both layered classical rooms and restrained contemporary spaces, bringing presence without weight. It can anchor a dining table, illuminate a large kitchen island, or lend quiet grandeur to a covered veranda, pairing easily with gilt mirrors, rustic cabinetry, and upholstered seating for a timeless, welcoming atmosphere.
Condition and patina consistent with age.
