A tall French Louis-Philippe style wall mirror from the late 19th century. Its elegant arched rectangular frame, with softly rounded shoulders and a straight base, is richly decorated with finely modelled scrolling foliage and rosettes, beautifully highlighted by a later matte white painted finish. A delicate beaded inner moulding frames the mirror plate, while the crisp relief and chalky surface lend the piece a fresh yet timeworn elegance. The mirror plate is very clear, displaying only minimal signs of age. Presented in very good antique condition, with minor nicks to the gesso and light wear to the painted finish.
Its generous proportions make it a striking focal point above a fireplace, console, or chest of drawers, while the clear mirror plate brings light and a wonderful sense of space to an interior. The soft white finish layers effortlessly into both traditional and contemporary settings, adding warmth and timeless French elegance.
Condition and patina consistent with age.
