Dating from the late-nineteenth century, this exquisite, high-quality Louis XVI-style console is pleasingly and unusually tall.
Expertly restored recently to reveal its marvelous former state: the walnut wood is a beautiful soft, warm brown and now the intricate floral carvings have been brought forth in all their beauty. Topping the stand and matching in quality is a white marble surface from Carrara (and is original to the piece). The console was sourced from a mas (a farmhouse) in Provence.
It would be magnificent positioned in an entryway. A ceramic vase holding a floral arrangement, an antique clock, or a small sculpture would look fabulous placed on this side table.
Condition and wear consistent with age and use.
