A petite set of three handcrafted terracotta kitchen garden labels from Anduze, southern France, mid to late 20th century. Each oval cartouche is molded with a foliate scroll border and a small pierced hole for tying, the centers in raised lettering reading Mint, Chives, and Parsley in french. The clay shows warm red to chalky buff tones with varied mineral accretions and traces of mossy green, giving attractive, naturally mottled patinas. Although contemporary in production, these markers are made in Anduze, a village in southern France long celebrated for its pottery traditions dating back to the 17th century.
Known especially for its hand-thrown vases and garden wares, Anduze pottery embodies authenticity and artisanal skill passed down through generations.
These pieces continue that legacy, blending utility with decorative appeal. Ideal for styling a kitchen garden or greenhouse, they can be tied to stakes with twine or hung from the rims of herb pots to lend quiet character. Indoors, they add texture on a potting bench, pantry wall, or open shelving, grouped with old seed packets and clay pots. Their small scale and soft surfaces make them easy to mix into French country, farmhouse, or garden-room settings, where their gentle patina provides a subtle, authentic accent.
Additional pieces from the same collection are also available here, allowing for a cohesive yet varied set.
