Two 19th-century family portraits - French 24" x 21¼"

SKU: 16650

US$4,144
Two framed portraits from the nineteenth century of siblings from a bourgeois family. The subjects are identified on the reverse as Philiberte Button and Jean Pierre Probel, along with their ages at the time of the painting. Note the pretty details of their garments, particularly the lace.

Signed Antoine Brun, April 1820, these portraits would be characterful additions to a gallery wall or flanking a mirror in a bedroom. Note slight losses to the original gilded frames.

Oil on board.

Condition and wear consistent with age and use.
