This charming miniature vitrine dates from the late 19th to early 20th century and was made in France. Constructed in dark-stained wood with carved details and turned columns, it features a two-tiered design with upper and lower cupboards, each fitted with inset glazed panels backed in original checked fabric. Two small drawers and open corner shelves provide further decorative variation.
Though scaled as a child’s toy, this piece was also likely intended as a wall decoration or practical storage for small household items. With its flat back and brass hanging hooks, it can be easily mounted and used in a kitchen for jars and spices, or in a bathroom for creams and perfumes. The condition is well preserved, with gentle surface wear and patina consistent with age. Whether used decoratively, functionally, or as part of a doll's interior, this piece retains great character and historical charm. An unusual and versatile miniature cabinet from rural French domestic life.
