Very Large Hand-Blown Clear Glass Footed Compote, circa 1950s–70s - 11¾"

This very large vintage hand-blown glass footed bowl has an impressive goblet-like form, with a generously rounded bowl raised on a substantial stem and broad circular foot. The clear glass retains numerous small bubbles and subtle irregularities from the blowing process, and shows surface scratches and some areas of light clouding from age and use, most noticeable on close inspection.

Its generous proportions make it a remarkable centerpiece on a large dining table, console or kitchen island, where it could be filled with fruit, seasonal produce or flowers. It would also look beautiful in a bathroom, filled with colorful soaps. The clarity of the glass and the generous scale of the form allow it to make a strong yet visually light statement.
