A beautiful Victorian fish service for six, circa 1900, presented in its fitted wood case. The set comprises six fish knives with broad, scalloped blades and six matching forks, each blade finely engraved with flowing floral motifs. Cream-toned handles are joined by turned silver-plated ferrules, creating an elegant transition from handle to blade. The blades are stamped “E.B. & Co.,” consistent with Sheffield electroplated wares of the period. The case is lined in deep blue velvet with shaped compartments and features a blank cartouche for a monogram. Condition is very good for the cutlery, with light surface wear, while the case shows gentle age, with some rubbing to the velvet and brass cartouche, along with scratches to the wood.
Such services reflect the refined dining customs of the time, when specialized utensils were used for each dish, lending a sense of occasion to the table. The delicate engraving and softly gleaming surfaces add charm and visual interest, enhancing the pleasure of serving and dining alike.

Condition and patina consistent with age.
