When they arrived to find seven venerable cherry trees, Patricia laughs, “I became Madame Cerise!” From then on she gathered anything with a cherry motif, from pillows and posters to clothing, earrings, and this favorite coupe from her personal collection. Clear blown glass forms a shallow bowl encircled by crimson cherries and pale green leaves, each leaf finely veined by hand. The stem is lightly twisted for grip and sparkle, and even the foot carries a discreet cherry, a charming detail. Its scale is intimate and easy to cradle in one hand, suited to a spoonful of poached cherries, a scoop of sorbet, or a sip of cherry liqueur.
