A charming collection of French sandstone pottery pieces from the 1970s each signed by the celebrated pottery house Atelier Thierry et Chantal Robert. The four pieces include a vase, a coffee pot with lid, a tea pot with lid, and a bottle. The lovely grey and speckled glazing is a style characteristic to pieces made by Atelier Thierry et Chantal Robert. This set would make a superb addition to any collection by appreciators of French pottery.
More about Atelier Thierry et Chantal Robert:
Thierry Robert, born in 1933, and Chantel Robert (née Flandrin), born in 1936, both followed art professions in Paris at the start of their careers. In 1972, Thierry Robert was a stoneware potter in Poncé, France, in the Loire Valley, and purchased a closed eighteenth century paper mill and restored the buildings to create the Paillard Artisanal Center (Les grès du Loir) with his wife Chantal until 1999. For more than 30 years, they were an important driving force in the artisanal pottery scene.
