A lovely ceramic glazed grey fruit bowl with natural design by Dominique Baudart. Note the wheat-like hand-painted decoration gracefully fanning out, dropping from the center top. This piece was created in the late 60s or early 70s during Baudart's time in the Drôme region. Beneath the piece, it is signed "D. Baudart". A superb piece of ceramic art to display on a shelf or use in the kitchen for fruits or salad.

About the Artist:

Dominique Baudart settled in Vallauris in 1952, where he initially worked with Jean Rivier, then at the Vieux Moulin with Malarmey and Perot. Finally, he established his own studio. Roger Collet took over his workshop in 1963, which probably coincided with Baudart's departure for Die, in the Drôme region, where he continued his ceramic work. He has completed many works in the taste of Picasso's ceramic collaborator, Robert Picault, whom he probably met in Vallauris. Extract translated from La Bergerie Céramiques.
