From the kitchen at Chanteduc, Patricia and Walter's farmhouse in Vaison-la-Romaine, this charming vintage glass bowl was found at a local brocante.
Blown in clear glass and shaped unmistakably as an apple, the bowl comes in two rounded halves: a generous base for the sauce and a domed lid that completes the form. The detail that lifts it from sweet to genuinely lovely is the stem — a small, slightly curved stalk in warm gold that serves as the lid's handle, catching the light and giving the whole piece its personality. Patricia exclaims that it's made for applesauce.
Set it on the breakfast table alongside a pot of yogurt and a jar of honey, or bring it out at dinner alongside a pork roast — both pairings feel entirely at home in a Provençal kitchen. It would be equally satisfying simply displayed on a shelf.
