Josephine Baker sign, metal 16½" x 19¼", vintage

This is a rare metal sign advertising the famous American/French singer and cabaret performer Josephine Baker (1906-1975). Baker is well loved in France and was a French Resistance agent and civil rights activist. Baker has just been awarded the French Legion of Honnor, la Légion d'honneur and is the sixth female to enter the French Pantheon of national heros.
