A vintage Mehun porcelain appetizer set from the convivial table at Patricia and Walter's Paris apartment. In crisp white porcelain bordered by hand painted blue and finished with a fine gilt line, three angular, lightly ribbed bowls gather neatly on a hexagonal tray to form a satisfying geometric whole. French craftsmanship shows in the thoughtful proportions and the way each bowl nests with purpose. Patricia explains, “I love it. I bought it on the Left Bank around 30 years ago. It’s great for apéritif nibbles, and it’s in my favorite blue and white!” Her words capture the spirit of her table: authority without pretension, intelligent simplicity, and generous hospitality. Scaled for a small gathering, the palm sized bowls invite olives, almonds, or garden radishes with butter at apéritif, translated as pre dinner drinks, recalling Patricia’s life between Paris and Chanteduc. Set it on a bar cart or kitchen counter for everyday nibbles, or place it on a coffee table with salted nuts and tapenade. Its blue and white palette brings a refined, useful note to entertaining.

Condition as noted and photographed: one chip to the tray, with light wear and some loss to the gilding.
