A charming Provençal oil-on canvas landscape signed by the artist, Hilger in the lower right side. This painting depicts country road leading through a chapel's archway in a hamlet. Note the classic red clay roof houses. The painting is enhanced by an elaborate gilded frame with a thin olive green velvet mat border lined with an inner gilded beveled edge. This Provençal landscape is set in a countryside town behind Sanary-sur-Mer, France, and would be a delightful way to bring a touch of Provence to your walls.

Please note photos for the gilded frame's patina which has some fissure lines in the plaster typical of aging.
