A vintage glass and silver-lidded condiment jar from Patricia and Walter Wells' Paris apartment. The cylindrical vessel is clear and bright, with a softly rounded base and smooth rim. Its fitted silver lid is topped with a neat loop handle and finished with a discreet notch for a spoon.
Patricia explains, “I’ve used this for years for salt, herbs, sugar or Espelette pepper, which I love. Grow your own and dry it!” True to her practical elegance, it kept seasonings close at hand for cooking, teaching, and entertaining, moving easily between the kitchen and the garden among pots of thyme and chiles.
Set it beside the range for flaky salt, place it on a cheese board filled with pepper or herbes de Provence, or group it with other small pots on a tray for a welcoming buffet. Useful, well made, and quietly refined, this Parisian jar brings Patricia’s generous hospitality and exacting simplicity into everyday cooking.
