Vintage Italian Mouth-Blown Murano Glass Pendant Light - 19¾"

This vintage Italian pendant light is formed from a mouth-blown Murano glass globe in a soft honey to pale amber tone, enclosed within a decorative iron wire cage. The glass is richly textured, with softly molded lobes, rippling surfaces and subtle variations that catch the light beautifully. Its form recalls mid-century Venetian caged-glass lighting associated with makers such as Seguso, though this appears to be a later example, as suggested by the construction of the wire cage. The upper glass section unscrews to give access to the single bulb within.

Unlit, the mouth-blown texture and warm amber tone give the pendant a sculptural, softly aged presence; illuminated, the glass takes on a warmer, more atmospheric glow, with the iron cage drawing delicate lines across the surface. It would work particularly well in an entrance hall, stairwell or above a dining table where its texture and warm light can create a mellow, inviting atmosphere.
