This wheel was most likely from a two or four wheeled domestic wagon for the transport over short distances of heavy objects such as building materials. The two central openings cushioned the shock during loading and movement.
Either from the Pyrenees or Spain. Late 18th / early 19th century. Very heavy.
Condition and wear consistent with age and use.
