Walnut work table - 17th century Louis XIII - 51½"

An unusual French worktable from the seventeenth century. There are traces of use and repair on the top indicating that it was used with some tools or machines - perhaps a jewellery maker for example. Note the wear to the stretcher underneath - it has been smoothed from years of use. This could be used as a bench or low console table. Made from walnut with an H stretcher and fabulous turned legs. This table would look great behind a sofa with lamps and a large floral display.
