A lovely carved and gilded wooden framed mirror from the end of the nineteenth century, France. Pretty geometric foliage prominently borders the middle of the frame, and traces of red gesso have started to peek through the gilding. The mirror glass shows some dotted foxing from the passage of time. This gilded mirror would enliven any space with French elegance and can be hung in both landscape or portrait directions.
Note: Mirrors have been photographed facing fabric, a technique that reveals any age spots in the glass. In some cases, this may create the appearance of an empty frame, but each mirror is complete except where explicitly stated.
