A charming French natural history print, Le Petit Paradis, after an original watercolour by the celebrated ornithological artist Jacques Barraband (1767–1809). This 20th-century reproduction faithfully captures the refinement and detail of his work. The bird is shown perched mid-call on a branch, its plumage in deep green, warm ochre, and flowing coral-pink tail feathers that cascade with graceful movement.
The paper has mellowed to a soft, warm tone, with light foxing that adds gentle character. Presented under glass in a slim black frame with a gilt inner slip, its restrained finish allows it to sit comfortably in both traditional and more contemporary interiors.
Decorative and evocative of classic natural history illustration, it is well suited to a study, library, or bedroom. A matching print featuring another exotic bird is available separately, allowing the two to form a harmonious pair.
Condition and patina consistent with age.
