A lovely, large antique French confit pot from the early twentieth century. It has the size number 10 stamped at the top. It is glazed on the inside and on the lip of the rim. The outside is unglazed. Confit pots are from southwest France and were used to store food under a layer of fat that sealed in the freshness.
Condition and wear consistent with age and use.
