Dating from the eighteenth-century, this exquisite Louis XV period solid oak commode is an absolute gem. The carved shell motifs indicate that it originates from the north of France, near Belgium. The oak has been bleached revealing the detailed workmanship. Some restoration has been done.
The top drawer has two handles, the second drawer is actually split in two and the key is used to pull them open, the bottom two drawers have handles. All drawers slide smoothly.
