A charming French winemaker’s table dating from the late 19th to early 20th century, with a relatively low profile and solid, sturdy construction.
The tabletop is made from broad fir planks, beautifully timeworn and rich in character, with a warm patina that reflects decades of use. The base is particularly appealing, with an attractive V-shaped support that add both strength and decorative detail. Well balanced in proportion, this piece has a grounded, substantial feel while retaining the simple elegance typical of traditional vineyard furniture.
Originally used by winegrowers for meals and breaks between work in the vines, this table now makes a versatile occasional piece. It would work beautifully in a garden room, under a covered terrace, or indoors as a rustic coffee table or decorative accent.
Condition and wear consistent with age and use. Please note that the rim has slightly separated from the top, which is typical wear for a table of this type. Please refer to the photographs.
