Vintage primitive French cork platter - large 37" x 19¾"

SKU: 16708

US$653
Dating to the 1960s/70s, France, the original purpose of this large cork couasse was a display platter for bouillabaisse. When dining in a French restaurant, raw fish is presented on a couasse to guests before it is transformed into a bouillabaisse. With its long, shallow, and organic curved nature, this cork platter would make an intriguing decorative object or table centerpiece in both modern and traditional interiors. And don't worry, this does not smell of raw fish!

Condition and wear consistent with age and use.
Approx. overall 8¼" high x 37" wide x 19¾" deep
Approx. overall 21cm high x 94cm wide x 50cm deep
